Privacy

This website does not track you. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or social media pixels. The only personal information we hold is an email address, and only if you choose to give us one.

What we collect, and why

Your email address, if you ask us to send you something. If you sign up for the Weekly Marriage Check-In, we store your email address so that we can send you the guide and, from time to time, an email from Vividly in Love. That is the only reason we hold it.

We ask you to confirm your address by clicking a link before we send you anything. That is deliberate. It means nobody can be added to our list by somebody else, and it means everyone on it genuinely asked to be there.

Anything you write to us. If you email hello@vividlyinlove.com, we hold that message in the mailbox, as anyone would.

Ordinary server records. Our web host keeps standard technical logs, such as the addresses of computers requesting pages. This happens on every website and we do not use those records to build a picture of individual visitors.

Cookies and tracking

We do not set cookies, and we do not use analytics

That is unusual enough to be worth saying plainly. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising tags, and no third party watching what you read.

You can read a devotion about a difficult subject without anyone, including us, building a record of the fact.

If that ever changes, this page changes first.

Email is the one exception

We would rather tell you this than have you find it out.

When we send you an email, it contains a small invisible image that tells us whether the message was opened. We use it for one purpose: to notice when our emails have stopped arriving properly and started going to spam folders. It is the earliest warning we get that something is wrong.

The same applies to links. When you click something in one of our emails, we can see that it was clicked. We use it to learn which subjects are worth writing more about, and for nothing else.

We do not use either of these to build a picture of you, and we do not share them with anyone. If you would rather not be counted, most email programmes can be set to block images by default, and everything we send still reads perfectly well without them. Link counting is harder to avoid, and the honest answer is that the only way round it is not to click.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of companies to run this site. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

  • Hostinger hosts the website.
  • Titan provides the hello@vividlyinlove.com mailbox.
  • SMTP2GO sends the emails the website itself generates.
  • MailerLite stores the mailing list and sends the emails you subscribed to.

Some of these companies operate outside the Caribbean, so your email address may be stored on servers in other countries.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it, and then we delete it. Records of emails our website has sent are kept for fourteen days and then discarded automatically.

Your choices

You can leave at any time. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You do not need to give a reason.

You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Write to hello@vividlyinlove.com and we will do it.

Something important, because of who writes this

This is not a confidential clinical channel

Sharlene is a psychologist and marriage therapist. This website is not a counselling service, and email to us is not a confidential clinical channel.

Please do not send us detailed personal or clinical information about your marriage, your mental health or your family through this website or by email to hello@vividlyinlove.com. It is an ordinary mailbox and it is not the right place for it.

If you would like professional support, Sharlene’s counselling practice, Vivid Resolutions, works with adults and couples across the Caribbean and has its own confidentiality arrangements: vividresolutions.com.

Vividly in Love is not a crisis service. Emergency numbers vary across the Caribbean. In Trinidad and Tobago: Police 999, Ambulance 811, and 800-COPE (2673).

Children. This website is written for married adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. If you believe we have, please tell us and we will delete it.

Changes. If what we do with your information changes, we will change this page and update the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting more than we do today.

Write to hello@vividlyinlove.com with any question about this page, or about information we hold.
