Why the ordinary days matter

Marriages rarely come apart in a single argument. They come apart in ordinary days: the conversation put off until tomorrow, the apology almost made, the prayer you both meant to pray and never quite did.

Left alone, distance becomes the normal temperature of a home. And once it feels normal, it becomes very hard to say out loud.

That is what a daily devotion is for. Not a programme, and not a course. A few quiet minutes, most days, that keep two people turned towards each other.

Who writes these

The hardest part is often admitting that anything is wrong at all. These devotions were written so that nobody has to. They ask nothing of you but a few minutes together, and they never require you to explain yourself to anyone.

The purpose has always been to inspire struggling couples, without pressuring them to openly share their issues.
