Creating a Shared Vision

Loving Your Spouse When You Feel Like Walking Away

Day 17 of 21 · Monday 27 April 2026

By Sharlene Findley-Stewart · 1 minute read

Scripture reading

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. perish: or, is made naked”

Proverbs 29:18, KJV

Teaching lesson

Every strong marriage is moving toward something.

A couple once realised they had spent years managing life but never discussing their future.

They were:

Paying bills

Raising children

Handling responsibilities

But they had no shared direction.

Without vision, marriage can become routine instead of purposeful.

Couples, you are encouraged to define where you are going, not just deal with where you are now.

Vision brings:

Unity

Motivation

Alignment

Imagine the difference between:“We’re just getting through life,”and“We’re building something together.”

A shared vision creates meaning beyond daily responsibilities.

Together

Your challenge

Discuss one goal you want to achieve together in the next year.

On your own

To reflect on

  • Do we have a shared vision as a couple?
  • What future do I desire for our marriage?

Prayer focus

“Pray for clarity and unity in your shared future.”

With love and prayer,Sharlene
