Praying Through Seasons of Weariness
Praying with Love
Day 19 of 21 · Wednesday 10 June 2026
Scripture reading
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9, KJV
Teaching lesson
They were tired.
Not only physically tired.
Emotionally tired.
Mentally tired.
Spiritually tired.
Tired from working.
Tired from trying.
Tired from carrying responsibilities.
Tired from having the same conversations.
Tired from hoping things would change.
Sometimes marriage enters seasons of weariness.
Not because love is gone.
But because life has become heavy.
Bills keep coming.
Children need attention.
Work demands more.
Family responsibilities increase.
The body needs rest.
The heart needs comfort.
And the marriage needs care.
When weariness enters the home, even small things can feel big.
A simple question can sound like pressure.
A forgotten task can feel personal.
A quiet moment can be mistaken for distance.
A tired spouse can seem uncaring when they are really just overwhelmed.
That is why prayer matters in weary seasons.
Prayer helps us remember that we are not only carrying each other.
God is carrying us.
Prayer gives language to what the heart cannot fully explain.
“Lord, we are tired.”
“Lord, strengthen us.”
“Lord, help us not to turn on each other.”
“Lord, restore joy in our home.”
Marriage needs compassion when one or both persons are weary.
More gentleness.
More patience.
More rest.
More understanding.
More grace for the season.
Weariness does not mean the marriage is failing.
Sometimes it simply means the marriage needs covering, care, and renewal.
A weary season can become a place where husband and wife learn to hold each other with more tenderness.
Not demanding more than the other can give.
But praying together for strength to keep going.
Because God still renews tired hearts.
And He can refresh love that has become weary.
Together
Your challenge
Ask your spouse, “What has been feeling heavy for you lately?” Listen with care and pray together for strength.
On your own
To reflect on
- Have I been treating my spouse’s weariness with compassion or frustration?
Prayer focus
“Lord, strengthen us in seasons of weariness. Help us not to become harsh, distant, or discouraged. Restore our joy, renew our strength, and teach us to care for each other with patience and grace. Amen.”
