Choosing Commitment Daily
Loving Your Spouse When You Feel Like Walking Away
Day 16 of 21 · Sunday 26 April 2026
Scripture reading
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:15, KJV
Teaching lesson
Commitment in marriage is not a one-time decision; it is a daily choice.
A couple once said, “We love each other, but some days it feels hard to stay connected.”
That honesty revealed something important:Marriage is not sustained by feelings alone; it is sustained by decisions.
There are days when:
You feel misunderstood
You feel tired
You feel distant
In those moments, commitment becomes the anchor.
I want you to remember that lasting marriages are built on a deliberate commitment to continue, even when it is difficult.
Commitment says:“I will keep showing up.”“I will keep trying.”“I will not give up on us.”
It is not about perfection; it is about persistence.
