Working as a Team
Loving Your Spouse When You Feel Like Walking Away
Day 15 of 21 · Saturday 25 April 2026
Scripture reading
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Amos 3:3, KJV
Teaching lesson
Marriage was never meant to be a competition; it was designed to be a partnership.
A couple once found themselves constantly arguing about who was doing more.
Each felt:“I’m carrying the heavier load.”
But the real issue was not effort; it was perspective.
They were measuring against each other instead of working with each other.
A healthy marriage functions as a team, not as two individuals keeping score.
Think about this:
In a team, when one person is struggling, the other steps in.There is no scoreboard, only shared responsibility.
But when marriage becomes a competition:
Resentment increases
Appreciation decreases
Unity weakens
A strong marriage says:“It’s not you vs me, it’s us vs the problem.”
That mindset changes everything.
Together
Your challenge
Identify one current challenge and create a simple plan to address it together.
On your own
To reflect on
- Do I approach marriage as a partnership or a comparison?
- How can I support my spouse better this week?
Prayer focus
“Pray for unity, cooperation, and a team mindset in your marriage. Absolutely, here is the final phase of your devotional, completing Days 16–21, focusing on commitment, vision, long-term growth, and renewal, fully aligned with the final step of the workbook: making and sustaining commitment.”
