Reuniting as “We”
Loving Your Spouse When You Feel Like Walking Away
Day 10 of 21 · Monday 20 April 2026
Scripture reading
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9, KJV
Teaching lesson
One of the quiet dangers in marriage is drifting into separate lives.
A couple once realised that although they lived in the same house, they were functioning independently:
Separate schedules
Separate priorities
Separate focus
They were no longer operating as a team.
Marriage was designed to function as “we,” not “two individuals sharing space.”
There is importance in reuniting as a partnership, where the relationship becomes a priority again.
Think of it this way:
When life becomes busy, the marriage often moves to the background. But what we neglect eventually weakens.
Reuniting as “we” requires intentional effort:
Choosing time together
Making shared decisions
Prioritising the relationship again
It is not automatic, it is a choice.
Together
Your challenge
Set aside intentional time this week to do something together without distractions.
On your own
To reflect on
- Have we been functioning as a team or as individuals?
- What has taken priority over our relationship?
Prayer focus
“Pray for unity and renewed partnership.”
With love and prayer,Sharlene
